Terms of Use
Effective October 8, 2026
Trib Tracker™ (the "Site") is a free service run by Schroeder Outdoors ("we," "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
1. Wading safety and no warranty
Please wade safely. All data is provisional and conditional, and labels of river conditions (such as "Normal," "High," "Blown out," or "Good window") are not an indication of wading safety.
Rivers can rise quickly and without warning. Always judge conditions in person, know your limits, and follow local regulations and posted notices.
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Flow, temperature, and rain data come from third parties, may be delayed, estimated, revised, or missing, and may not reflect conditions where you are standing. Drive times and distances are rough estimates.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Schroeder Outdoors is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site. You use the Site and enter any river at your own risk.
2. Ownership
The Site, including its design, layout, code, text, graphics, icons, the Trib Tracker™ name and logo, and the way river conditions are rated, ranked, and presented, is owned by Schroeder Outdoors and protected by copyright and other laws. All rights not expressly granted here are reserved.
3. What you may do
You may use the Site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes: checking conditions, planning trips, and sharing links to the Site or to a specific river with friends.
4. What you may not do
Without our written permission, you may not:
- Copy, reproduce, republish, or create a substantially similar version of the Site, its code, design, or ratings;
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest the Site or its outputs with automated tools, or use the Site to build a competing product or dataset;
- Sell, resell, license, or otherwise commercially exploit the Site or any part of it;
- Embed or frame the Site within another website or app;
- Remove, hide, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other notices;
- Reverse engineer the Site, except to the extent the law expressly allows despite this restriction;
- Use the Site in a way that disrupts it or overloads it or the data providers it relies on.
5. Data sources
The Site displays public data from these providers, who do not endorse the Site:
- U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), streamflow, water temperature, and historical statistics. Most recent data is provisional and subject to revision.
- Open-Meteo, rain history and forecasts, licensed under CC BY 4.0 (open-meteo.com).
- OpenStreetMap contributors, map tiles and map data, available under the Open Database License.
These Terms do not restrict your rights to the underlying public data itself, which you can get directly from those providers under their own terms.
6. Privacy
There are no accounts, and we don't ask for your name or email. If you allow location access, your location is used on your device to sort rivers by distance and is not sent to us. Your saved favorites and settings are stored in your own browser. To show maps and data, your browser connects directly to the providers listed above and to our hosting, font, and code-library providers (GitHub, Google Fonts, Cloudflare), who may receive your IP address as part of normal web requests. We don't run ads or analytics trackers.
7. Changes
We may update the Site or these Terms at any time. The effective date above shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
